Funding can be used for all morning and afternoon sessions, however all lunch sessions are payable at £2 per session which is to cover supervision cost during this period not provision of food.
Lunchtime is from 11.50 a.m. The children can usually have a cooked school lunch or bring a packed lunch, however cooked school lunch is not currently available due to restrictions imposed by Covid-19 guidelines, therefore all children must bring a packed lunch. The school meals are organised by Nether Stowey School Meals Service (NSSMS) and are paid for weekly or termly in advance and are arranged with the school.
Stowey Bears actively promotes healthy eating during snack and lunch times.
We would appreciate your support in this by not providing sweets, chocolate or fizzy drinks. Also, as we do not the facility to provide cold storage for perishable foods, please could you include an ice pack in your child’s lunch box to keep food as fresh as possible.
Drinking water is available to the children at all times. Milk and water is provided at snack times along with a healthy and nutritious snack. We are currently asking that each child keeps a water bottle (one they recognise as their own) at Stowey Bears which we will wash and sterilise.
